28 or 31 spline axles in 90 f150?
i have a 90 f-150 with the 302.... 2wd.
it obviously has the 8.8, but i'm wondering if it has the 28 or 31 spline axles.
(putting in a limited slip and need to know)

Do you have the buck tag that is on the diff , info ?
The best way to figure it out is to pull one an see if the axle tapers down to splines (28) or runs from smooth to splines without a taper (31).

i looked on the tag on the rearend... but it was pretty rusted and i couldn't really make anything out on it.

Let's just say then, " Chances are then,they are 28 spline.

my 90 has 31 spline axles
i dont think ford ever used 28 spline axles in the 8.8 under trucks just under cars

This should go in the axle forum..but...
The trucks and vans used 31 spline...not 28 spline axles.
The rangers, mustangs, t-birds, town cars..etc...used 28 spline.
