95 F250 4WD PowerStroke ??
I'm looking to "maybe" buy this truck and would like to know a few things...
What "overall" issues I need to look for before buying it ?
What's the Longevity on the 7.3 PowerStroke ??
What MPG should I expect from it (Auto transmission) ??
It has 231,000 miles on it and seems to be in Average condition.
It's got a 6" Lift and 35s on it also. It's a Regular Cab w/Longbed.
I know it needs a Steering column and tires (35s).
The dude is asking $5600. Is that a good price to pay ??
Thanks!

That's a lot of miles, equal the distance to the moon. You will get opinions all over the scale on both questions but I think it would depend on how the truck was taken care of. "Average" condition might be questionable. Same thing with fuel mileage. I get 13 mpg empty and 10 pulling a 24' TT. with a 410 rear. Some guys claim 18-19.

Just sold mine, 256,000 miles and still going strong. And it was used and worked hard. Engine will make 300,000 easily.
Couple of things. Test the coolant for the proper additive amount. Test strips at NAPA or Ford. If it has no additive you won't want the truck. Open the oil fill cap while the engine is running. Look for smoke, indicates blow by sometimes.

Is this what leads to the Cativation issue I've heard about ??
What exactly causes this cativation ?? Why doesn't it occur with all engines ??
