Post Supercharger pulley

Can someone tell me what is involved takeing the pulley off the supercharger for a pulley upgrade. Any special Puller required? I have a power stering pulley puller set. I have a cust comming in the shop with an '04 Lightning and he wants me to put pullies on his truck. He did not have the truck here when he came in so i couldnt tell him definatly that i had the tools to take it off. He was a freak anyway and was just fliping out on every little bit on the job! SO if someone can let me know what is involved, I can calm this dude down! Thanks!

I have not done it but I believe there is a special tool needed. The big problem is belt slippage with a smaller blower pulley . The crank pulley is my choice

I have done the upper pulley you need a special tool it calls pulley puller and its pretty hard to take out but you get more boost also you can get a smaller belt.

if its the lower pulley, its pretty much standard tools. and a lot easier to change out!

the upper requires a special tool since the pulley is actually pressed on.

You need to get $120 Tool from Eaton...or another company that makes pulleys.....they usaly have pullers you can buy to change out....bout the same price. I figure just go with the lower pulley and not risk screwing up the s-charger nose bearings and be about $120 ahead. You will need to get a rather larger Hex wrench to get the lower pulley off. I dont remember the size off the top of my head. But everywhere i looked for pulleys, they cautioned about pulling off the blower pulley. They also said it will slip more when underdriven. That is why a larger lower pulley workes better, more surface area to grip. My 2......
