I really need help

I have a 2001 Ford expedition and I was taking my 5 year old to see Santa. I was backing into the parking space and the truck stalled out. When I started it back the 4 wheele drive was engaged and wont disengage. I have replaced the fuce, reset the computer, and checked all the wires. Please help me. Once I get it disengaged I want to know how to cut the system. I live with A LOT of sand no snow. If you can help please email me at [email protected]

If you pull the fuse the front driveshaft should lose power. The forward clutch is electric, not mechanical.

My '97 Expo has 2H, A4WD, 4HI, 4Low option. Why would you need to disable the A4WD part of the switch?

my 01 Expy wasn't blessed with the 2 Hi option set. so it drops in and out of 4wd constantly as i drive it down the highway. absolute gas mileage killer.

It shouldn't be dropping into 4WD on the highway. It only drops in when it detects wheel slip when operating properly Your mileage sucks because your mileage sucks. .
