How Much below MRSP did you pay?

I am thinking about trading in my 2003 Honda Pilot in for a F150... I can't handle the SUV thing I need a truck. Just wondering how far below MRSP most dealers are willing to go?

sometimes dealers will go to about 500 over invoice. best thing to do is find somone that works for ford and ask them for an x-plan.

I bought my Lariat on the x-plan which ended up about $65 below invoice as listed on the Ford website (ie. build your own vehicle)

My dad just ordered his Lariat without the x-plan and got it a bit cheaper than I did.

In general it depends on the area and how much the dealers are willing to deal. Shop around. For the new F-150, I think that if you can get it anywhere from $200 over invoice or below you're getting a good deal...If they won't budge, have them thow in some extras, such as the splash guards, an extra key (if you're gonig to get a remote start), a few oil changes, etc. These things don't cost them much and can save you some money as you'd buy them anyway.

If you are asking how much below MSRP then the answer is $3000.00 to $4000.00.
If yoiu are asking about invoice price it is about $200.00 over.

I got mine on x plan which was about $200 under invoice. It came to about $5000 under sticker. Many dealers in this area make a practice of selling vehicles at $99 over invoice so x plan only saved me about $400 since they couldn't charge me for their usual $99 documentation fee (not allowed on x plan). Not a lot but $400 is $400.--Jack

i am a "A" plan buyer and it is usually about $4,000 off the sticker price of a truck in the $20,000 range. all "A" plan is the discount for employees and their families. SO the "X" plan is around $3,000 of the sticker. it depends on how slow sells are going at your dealer as to how much they might be willing to work with you on the price. i know there is the option right now of $1,000 rebate or low interest finacing on the new F150. but from what i am hearing its hard to deal with them on the new f150.

To figure out the invoice, go to www.fordvehicles.com. You can build your truck there and it'll list MSRP and invoice as you build it.

The "X" plan is based on +4% +$150 over the "A" plan. The "A" plan prices are confidential. The "X" plan should get you below invoice, and the dealers must show you invoice and "X" plan pricing.

For those without any Plan, I would say anything within $500 of invoice is fair (since it's a new model in demand). Anything over that, and the incentives, rebates, low interest, and 7/70 of the Dodge Hemi would be hard to pass up (even though it's a lesser truck IMO).

Almost every dealer around here is taking $4000-$5000 off MSRP and giving you the $1000 rebate.

So $5000-$6000 below MSRP.

I purchased mine with the X-plan. I haggled with them for about 2 months and ended up getting mine for $900 under invoice. There weren't any rebates offered at the time either. I got a pretty good deal, imo.

Here's the breakdown on my deal. I worked this out with the dealer and I will be ordering around Feb 17 or 18.

$35,155 MSRP ($31,132 Invoice)
$31,067 X Plan Price
- $500 $500 below X Plan (my offer)
- $1,000 Ford Rebate (as of 1/12/04)
= $29,567 Total before tax
+ $1,774 Tax - KY 6%
$31,341 TOTAL

Some great information, but what exactly is an X-plan and A plan?

A plan is Ford employee price. X plan is for Ford suppliers and so on (the company I work for is a Ford supplier so I can use the X plan if I want to). I would imagine you'd know if your company was a Ford supplier. Anyway, you don't need the X plan. You can get just as good of a deal with regular negotiating.
