Has been an excellent engine since before Ford even started using a turbocharger, and now it's even better. I really appreciate the fact that Dodge has stuck with the system that works for them. Great article. The Cummins has always led in the reliability department, now they are officially the leader in power too. Add that to a better warranty and a lower price, and it's no wonder Dodge is ahead of GM in 2500/3500 series truck sales.

All that ond only 40 some odd different parts, meets all emmissions with no egr! Looks like the venerable ole cummins has done it again without a major redesign.

my dad has a dodge with the "old" cummins in it.....and swears it is stronger as it was than the new 6.0L he has in the new F450 he uses for his bee business as well.
No doubt in my mind either, that the cummins's I've been around are surely impressive. (not to say moreso than any other, since I've not been experienced in other diesels, firsthand......just that it's impressive)
