Mass Air Meters??

Who makes a good aftermarket mass air flow meter for a 95 302 f-150 with 19lb injectors?

Try Pro-M, they make several different style and size mass air meters for the Fords> They can calibrate them to whatever injector size you are running. Good Quality piece.

You guys with replacement air meters, do they work? I've looked at these things for quite awhile, but thought they were like so many other "performance" mods-no bang for the bucks.

I am one of those who does not believe they give that much improvement on a fairly stock engine. I am running an 80mm Pro-M on mine, but I am also running a supercharger, etc - which needs more air. I see the difference in mine, but I don't think a stock engine is going to see the gains to support the money. I didn't see it on mine before the supercharger. I had a 55mm stock MAF, and went to a 70mm Granetelli before the Eaton. Not much happened...

JMO of course....

Thanks! I figured as much. I see a lot of folks paying big bucks for mods that claim 10, 20 even 30 HP. Guess I'm guilty sometimes too.

yea,

I'd have to agree with CobraXP, you really wont see any gains on a stock engine. The larger maf will come into play for larger displacement, forced induction and the like.

rshober...it looks from your sig that you are looking for bolt ons to increase HP. You might want to look at a dual electric fan set-up. A feelable difference in HP. I've ran electric fans on several different applications and been happy with them.

You know, one of my amigo's put electric fans on his F-150, and was pretty pysch'd about it. I had a '94 F-150 that I had tricked out, that ran really well. I sometimes forget that a 6,900 lbs. truck ain't gonna' scoot down the road very fast. In after thought I should have gone with a powerstroke. My dad's F-350 DRW will eat my lunch any day of the week. Appreciate the fan advice, I'll take a look at them. Oh, and don't look down on me too much for the power-aid TBS, it was a present!

Have your heads ported/polished if your gonna get a high flow MAF. You'd be able to feel more of a HP increase cause ported/polished heads will flow more air/exhaust through the intake and exhaust valves.

If you are going to go as far as porting/polishing, I would also upgrade to an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and at least 24lb injectors while it is disassembled. Remember, to get a correct tune, you need both to air and fuel to get better gains.
