Exhaust going to get ordered this week!!!!!!
OK this is the week im gonna finaly gonna order my exhaust. Right now im leaning tward the mangaflow 4" turbo back stainless steel with a 5" tip. I found that for 365.00 on line. I know shipping will be more but i was trying to get some input on here one last time before i ordered anything. Does anyone have any advice on some exhaust that might be better or will sound better without overwelming the cab? Any tips will be appreciated!!!

I have the Magnaflow which so far I like. Not loud at all but you can hear it's there (mostly at first start up). The turbo whine is very evident which is expected since I had the square down pipe with the reynolds wrap on it. Didn't like having to take off the trans x-member to tilt the tranny down 6 - 8" to get enough clearance to drop the down pipe out. The installation instructions called for removing the tranny x-member, front stabilzer bar bracket/link, transmission dip stick tube and front shock (all on passenger side). I did all that except remove the shock. I don't know if I didn't have to do that since I cut the down pipe with a recip saw. Anyway, if you get a Turbo Back System I'd imagine you'll have to do more work with any brand you buy. At the moment I'm chasing a hissing sound which I acquired after the install. I must have pulled/loosened something. HTH

I don't think that an exhaust would effect your warranty. The main reason people install an exhaust is to lower EGTs. These trucks under extreme condition can exceed 1300 degrees EGT, so it is explainable why you upgraded the exhaust. I am on these diesel forum a lot and have never heard of a dealer giving anybody trouble over a aftermarket exhaust.

Do yourself a favor and read the owners guide on warranty. Then go into it informed. If the service person says "no problem" get it in writing. Generally shouldn't be a problem, but if there is a costly replacement (i.e. engine) that could be a problem.

And besides, the dealership is not the warrantor, Ford is and I have a feeling their take is
"blame it on whatever YOU changed"...
Don't get me wrong, I'm going to mod my truck, but I go into it knowing there are risk involved...
