I seem to remember reading a post about someone removing the air dam and black square tube bumper under the front main bumper.
Has anyone done this? My 99 didn't have it but my 02 does.
I like the cleaner look without it.
Does it leave anything exposed ? It doesnt look as if it will.

Just incase you didn't know what the part was called its a blocker beam
and its purpose is to prevent in the case of an accident.
It was designed to prevent smaller cars from going under your truck.
also it was a mandate by the NTSB as a safety factor to help in the
deployment of your airbag system, without it your airbags may not work
.
Insurance companys know about it,and may look for it if you have an accident. The reason I know about it is it was removed when they put my plow pkg on!
Very true Rich, I was just out there looking at mine, not there due to plow frame. The thing that gets me is my snow plow guy did'nt mention that he removed it during install. I'm going to ask him whats up the next time I see him.
Ya no kidding and now I see he's building a brand new 4 bay shop across the street from his other new 6 bay shop. He's making a ton of loot , I just wish I knew how he's doing it!!!
