AOD Not OD anymore...

I recently acquired a '93 F-150 w/ 5.0 V8 and AOD transmission. Everything ran great for a month, then I replaced the throttle position sensor to get rid of annoying off-idle dead spot. Since then, the overdrive no longer works. Tranny works perfectly in D, but when in OD, it doesn't upshift past 2nd gear, and when I let off the gas, it's as though the transmission comes out of gear and goes into neutral.

I tried adjusting the TV cable according to my shop manual's specifications, but that had no effect. I put the old TPS sensor back in, just in case the new sensor was messing something up, but same results. I'm about ready to take it to a mechanic, but wanted to check if anyone had seen a similar problem before, in case it's a simple fix that I've overlooked (unplugged cable or something).

In the event that I have to take it to a mechanic, can anyone recommend a good Austin, TX Ford shop?

you have deteriorated a plastic check ball in the valve body. the good news is, a tranny shop just has to drop the valve body and update it with new gasket and springs and *****. at the same time, remove the 1-2 accum spring so you get a REAL 1-2 shift.
