AOD or EOD? and installation ?

AOD or EOD? and installation ?
I have a tranny/engine combo that came from a donor LTD, supposedly a late 80's vintage. The tranny has a bunch of wiring coming out of the right side and it originally went to a "Black Box" I believe was mounted on the fender well. I didn't remove it, just purchaed as is where is. Never fooled with auto trans so assume I know less than nothing except how to check the fluid
1. Since it has electronics, is it an EOD? or is the wiring normal for the AOD?
2. I can handle the wiring hookup , but have heard horror stories about folks who cooked the EOD because there was no kickdown or cable. How do I do the hookup.
3. Since I want to de-smogify the 302, can I do it and still use the EOD? (assuming that's what it is)
4. What shifter is recommended (55 F100)?
Thanks for your help. The 292 in the truck has decided not to hold much oil pressure. I like to see 40 PSi not 6 or 8.

Never heard of an EOD trans.
It cant be the E4OD as it was not offered in cars.
So it's a C6 or an AOD, and the AOD didnt go to elecronic controlls (AODE) until the mid to late 90s. and the A4LD was not offered in that model.
