Ok I know this is stupid. But my brother thinks his car 92 Laser 2.0 Turbo..awd can out pull my truck. His car runs about high 12s in 1/4! I know its a fast car but its not built for polling thing.. THe car weighs in about roughfly 2600lbs. My trucks 4.9 F-150 Not 4 wheel drive. and Not posi trac rearend. But I still think I could just pull that car all over the place because of low end tq. Don't flame on me this is just proof to him that I can yank him all around!! State your opion and facts!!

I think there is no question about it. even if his engine did have enough torque the weight of the car would give into yours and he would just start spinnin the tires. now if he loaded his car down to make it real heavy, then maybe. hook a rope to each other and prove it, hahahaha. later

 

You could let him get a running start and still kill him, oh yeah, do video tape this if you do it.

 

this is the bro with the laser....my car weighs in at least 3100 pounds and has over 300 tourque and im usually fully boosted at 4k rpm. i still think i could out pull him...we will do it and find out

 

you caould have 5 billion pounds of torque, but it wouldn't do anything if its peak was at 10 billion rpm's. the 4.9 reaches its peak torque at low rpm's. the laser probably hits it at like 5k rpm's. pulling is all about traction. the f150 probably has wider tires.

 

Yea I have alot wider tires and alot bigger tall don't really mean anything though. But he has racing rims with Dunlop 17xxx somthign tires not sure...

Oh ya since I put my exhaust on there everytime I pill out I leave two black strips down the road.. then when I didn't have exhaust I had major wheel hop and one line..Don't know what happend...Maybe my truck just not got pissed off and showen its real power!

let him have a head start and let him yank on the ford, and laugh your butt off when you press on the gas, and as for the ford 4.9 haha its usually boosted around 1200 rpms a lot quicker than your little 2.0 can get fully "boosted" at 4k and for your 300 pds torque that's at 4k not like the 4.9 which is at what 2000

yea let the car go first and wait till his tires start spinning. once he overcomes the static friction he's useless. whatever you do dont floor it. you dont want your tires to spinn. just give it a nice steady crawl. once you have the upper hand then you can punch it and have some fun. maybe take a few laps around the block.

 

HAHAH. yea No I can't hurt his car any its a bad car. Its fast and new gunmetal gray paint job and ground effects but he just thought he could out pull me i would still like to try it..lol

300 torque in a 4 banger can that happen. not to big on those. i only like subaru 4 bangers. your wanna race one of them with awd and a turbo with 6 speed. i doubt it they are fast as hell even without a turbo and awd. anyway. just because it is awd doesn't mean that all wheels turn at the same time. it has limited slip too so i bet the truck would pull you back and forth upside down through the atlantic ocean if he wanted too. that car won't be at 4000rpm's while getting pulled all over town anyway.

 

well, I'm sorry you don't know nothing about the DSM. Because Eclips, laser,talone 1st and 2gen dsms all come with about the exact hp and tq. say they came stock with like 200 the tq was just around 200.. I have seen 4 bangers make way way more hp and tq then that. and the subarus stock will not beat his car.. It runs about 12.7 1/4 mile. I'm not flaiming you but his cars got more power then you all think expecially you. He just don't have pulling power. I got pics of car if anybody wants to see it..Its also awd and turbo 5speed.

I dont know about about everyone else, but the only pic I want to see is a pic of the truck dragging the little laser around. just hook em up and put the debate to rest. the truck will win, no problem. just make sure to post your results. hahaha.

 

you also have to consider height. when you both take off your truck will be pulling him up as well as out, taking some of his weight orr the ground. that, in turn, will pull down on your truck, giving you more traction. its almost like loading your bed up w/weight.

 

Enough talk and hook them up. Take pictures. I haven't seen a ricer bumper tied to the back of a truck for a while.
