transmission lockup
I own a 71 f100 swb, it has an 89 h/o 302 with a huge roller cam, alum. intake, 600 holley,headers and a few other goodies. My problem is the trans. a C-4. When I accelerate really hard in 2nd and shift into high, it shifts fine into high for only a few seconds, then it seems to either downshift by itself or it is trying to lockup. It fills the cab up with smoke,which is caused by overflowing trans fluid. I've had the thing rebuilt twice, both times having a busted modulator and burned clutches. I am currently opting to put a fmx or 4 speed in it. Any ideas or solutions are appreciated. thanks.
