03 Lightning missing

I have a friends 03 Lightning at my shop that I have done some work to,it has around 500 hp,He rund the stuff out of it and was messing around on the Interstate with another L,It started poping and backfired, the guy he was messing with has like half the mods he does and whipped him everytime they ran but this time he lost by 4 truck lenghts. There is no check light and fuel pressure is fine.Any ideas?

My buddy's L did that, he was running too much boost and blew head gaskets, the seater gaskets on the header/exhaust connection, and of course his "custom exhaust" had "custom welds" which leaked a little, it all attributed to backfiring, horsepower loss....also a decent tune up might be in order for ur buddy's L, that might help too

I was talking to another person about it and they said to check out the chip, that it could be causeing it but I dont no how it would be messing with one cylinder.

I ordered plugs for it today something I should have got when I did the work but wasnt thinking, they are 2 stages colder. The plugs that are in it (stock) are black and were wet with fuel.My friend told me that he checked the coolant in the bottle for the S/C and it was empty but at the shop it has been fine no leaks no nothing. We put a ice box on it plumbed from the bed of the truck to the water bottle for the S/C but everything checks out. Thanks for the help everyone and I will keep in touch if the plugs fix it.

He never put fluid in it and neither did I but yet its full so Im not sure if he was just looking at it wrong or what.Do they have a recall on the leaky Intercooler? I pressure tested the system and found nothing but I guess that dosent mean it isint leaking.
