Talking That little piece of pork

Okay, as I'm making some beanie-weenies for dinner, that eternal question which has nagged mankind for ages popped up once again- what the heck is up with that little piece of pork in the pork-n-beans? Does anyone actually eat that thing? It is too tiny to add any real flavor, and just looks nauseating. So why even add it? What to do with it? Maybe save all the little pieces and construct a lifesize statue of porky pig?
Just wondering.

I tried to give it to my dog once. She wouldn't eat it, so since that time I won't either. I hope my dog isn't getting smarter than I am! I also gave up on beanie weenies.

I usually give it to my dog ..... between the shepard, the lab, and the mix breed chihuahua, one of them will eat it. The chihuahua eats stuffed jalepenos from sonic so she usually gets it, lol.

I still like a hot steak better than a cold chop.

That's the part where the gas is stored, until you open the can and eat some.

Actually, it is not pork it is from the Spam animal, that little cut is just a bit behind the shoulder.
If you combine that with Spam flank stake (just in front of the shoulder) baste it with the juices from the Snipe bird it become a rare delicacy found only in the swamps of North Dakota.
