Taking apart hinged tonneau cover?
For those with a hinged cover, how do you go about pulling it off to load the bed with big stuff (couches, fridge etc...) that wouldn't fit under it. Do you disassemble the frame or just pull the frames off and set them aside? Feel free to recommend a brand.
I'm thinking of going with the Downey SST (not hinged) that has a lifetime warranty on frame and cover but the hinged idea has me thinking...ouch!

Not sure if this applies but.....for the single piece cover. It takes a couple of people. Undo the struts then open the lid all the way until it unhooks from the bed and lift off. I have the *******'s hard tonneau. I never put anything bigger than an icechest in the Ford, i have a '53 ****** for hauling stuff.

I have a Sport Master hinged soft tonneau cover. When I need to put in big items I just unsnap it, roll the cover back, take out the cross supports and load in the stuff. I love the hinged cover. I had a non hinged one on my last truck and it was not nearly as convenient. I hear that the ones that hinge at the front rather than 1/4 -3/4 hinge are better in the long run because they will not crack over the years...
