Yes.. I get that as well. My guess is that I need a K&N intake to allow more air..

I agree...
I have the exhaust, but not the intake...
have even done the Zoodad mod which lessened the smoke some, but not completely...

HOWEVER, if you're not smoking a bit...how do u know if it's getting enough fuel to make all the power you wanting to make :-)
at anything less than VERY "spirited" acceleration it doesn't smoke at all...

Thumbs up Sure "Check earlier post"

I drive F-350 6.0. I've been running the 65hp for a couple of months now and every time my lead foot goes for it your've got the black cloud for a short time. The only person it bothers is the guy you left parked in it. I'm not sure of the post that covers this topic but I read it sometime it the last week and although at first the black cloud was kind of making me wonder if I had a problem thanks to the great input from the folks on this site my mind was put to rest. Not being a pro from Dover I won't try to give you the full explaination that was given. However I'm sure you can do a search and find the straight scoop. undefined

Anybody else notice this? Is it normal? I would expect it at WOT or with the 100HP prorgram.
Mine does it too, the 100 HP program is worse. If I take it easy and use less throttle, no smoke

Yours should not have PI anyway. As I understand it , the October flash disabled PI

Bob, I think he has an 04 engine. I believe 9/30/03 was the cutover to the 04. I don't know if the 04 original factory tune will have PI or not. Seeing how they turned it off with the Oct flash on the 03's I doubt it. 04 have a different FICM and therefore a different flash.

TIMM BALDAUF, I would call DiabloSports and ask them. Or call Motorhaven and ask them. Both are very helpful.

I wish Ford would give us better information about this.

Bighoss 550 I have the predator installed on my 550. It's an 04 and I run the 65 and 100 horse programs. I've installed turbo boost, pre & post turbo pyrometers, oil temp, and even an hour meter . The only glitch I've noticed is that with the 100 horse program running and the motor turning past 2 grand the A/C clutch will not engage so there's no cold blow.

BOY, is that eeking out the last bit of HP ?!?!!?

YEARS ago I bought a vacuum switch that if at full pull it would turn off the power to the compressor... A/C would still blow and unless I was at full throttle for 10 minutes or so, it would still blow cold... but it actually gave my little 4 cylinder turbo a boost !!!

Funny if Diablo is doing that electronically - I've not noticed that though... and some of my trips I've been WELL above 2K rpms for HOURS with a LOAD in the back of the Ex....

Bob, Go to: http://www.flatratetech.com/6literpo...l_updates.html It takes some deciphering but the message is 9/30/03 and before is 03. They also have a list of the differences between the 03 & 04.

thankyou! finally, i know! this is great!

i wont be in the 100hp mode often, so its ok. the engine is always above 2000.

btw, how much temp drop do u see across the turbo? and do u have exhaust, intake, etc.?

I have noticed the same thing with the 100 HP program loaded. It continued for a couple of starts after I changed to the 65 hp mode.
