We recently got a P1249 (Fuel Error Metering Control) code on our '02 X with a code reader. It is an '02 X that has a diablo flip chip (54/78). We just recently put a banks monster exhaust on it (with power elbow turbo housing). It is a full 4" stainless kit . We didn't pay any attention to it but the chip was set to the stock mode for about a week after installation. Switched it over to the 54h setting this week and drove to work. Stepped down on it pretty good on 95 to merge and get ahead of some bonehead on the way there and I did not notice if the check engine light come on but it might have. Came out after work and the check engine light stayed on after startup . Got home read the code P1249 (Fuel Error Metering Control). Reset the code and I will wait to see if it comes back. Can anyone touch on why this code might have been thrown? I appreciate it and sorry to be long winded!

Could be the ecm reading the increase of fuel from the chip ? I dunno for sure, but perhaps someone could help out.

 

P1249 b WG Waste gate steady state failure GND short, plugged hose/port, solenoid, actuator
