heater ducts

Hey everybody!
I have been trying to get my 1973 F100 ready for winter.
Got my heater blowing hot air but all the flexible duct from the heater housing to the air vents in the dash board are deterioriating very badly so hardly any air gets to the vents.
Has anybody ever replaced the flexible duct?
Junkyard trucks have ducts in worse condition than mine.
BTW: 302, Factory A/C

Napa can order new ones but they are spendy. I'd use new ones and avoid the wrecking yard ones so you only have to do it once. When they get old, they will tear easily when changing them out.

I found some flexible ducting at Autozone right near the Air/Oil filter section. Its actually meant to be a replacement fresh air duct for your air cleaner, but its just like the stock heater ducts, with the clamping ends and everything. Only thing is, I think they only sell one length (from what I saw there) and its about 18" long, not long enough to reach those far vents.

If I were you I would just fabricate somthing, I know somone who did somthing like that .... Me..... The heater ducts on my 77 sucked, so I Made a piece of fiberglass that fit over the main blower section, and have 3 ducts, one next to the steering shaft above the drivers feet, one that blows more hot air onto the windshield for antifog, and one on the passengers feet. For the pipes I used fiberglass. Just an idea. I recently took a crash course on fiberglass and stuff.... Just run your blower on your heater for a while before you turn on the heat or you can get some bad fumes...

I wanted to know if there was anyplace or anybody such as LMC or Motorhaven that sold direct replacements for the heating duct.
