Does anyone have any ideas as to what I might look for to correct a rough idle, I have a 1999 E250 with a 5.4 and she just started to idle rough last week, it has 89,000 miles on it and the check engine light has been on for quite some time, I've had the fault codes pulled and was told it had a bad 02 sensor so I changed all of them, light back on had another shop test it and they said either clogged injectors or bad plugs may be causing it to throw a code, I have checked the plugs and someone had already changed them, (I just bought the truck last Jan.) It looks like she is running a little lean, I have tried several bottles of fuel system cleaner but the light stays on, which brings me to my current problem, the rough idle.
There is a slight hesitation on acceleration but it runs great after that, I have also removed and cleaned the IAC with carb cleaner and it seems to be working, any help would be greatly appreciated.
You might have a bad coil pack ,chk the pass side last one back .
It sometimes gets driped on by the a leaky heater hose.
The mass airflow sensor is mounted in the air intake tube after the filter but before the throttle body.
