Oh my aching ribs - seriously!

Ok - call me a klutz - call me talented but I am in a LOT of pain so whatever you do, be nice to me! LOL!
I tore the cartiledge in my ribs. I wish it were something dramatic like hitting a tree whilst skiing but NO - I coughed as I was leaning over the arm of my computer chair to pick up something & BOOM - RIP! I thought I broke a rib it hurt that badly.
I ended up needing to go to the ER by ambulance - I couldn't walk, let alone drive or even climb into the truck or clean the snow off.
I'm home now - may be for a few days. I found out this can take 12 WEEKS to resolve! Oh no! I'm going to need company so guys - start posting & keep them coming ok? Thanks! Oh - just 1 favor - DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH! IT HURTS! LOL - OUCH!

Ouch! I know the feeling. I fell out of my truck (non alcohol related) a couple years ago and smacked into the curb fracturing 2 ribs. Hurt like heck no matter what I did, just takes time and rest. Hope ya dont have to sneeze.
Take care, Rick

Hi 79 Trailer Special! Thanks for the reply! Actually, I haven;t had to sneeze this much when I had a bad cold - go figure! I'm carrying a pillow around to "brace" myself when I need it.
Yeti - I can't wait to meet you in person! I sure you show at the next event! LOL!
As for old, I guess if you look at my age I am old BUT I'm a kid at heart - ask anyone who knows me! My family keeps asking when I plan on "acting my age" or when I will grow up! My answer is NEVER! I'm having way too much fun being "youthful" - I won't give that up! ROFL!

cowlady,

Did the exact same thing some years back. Only I did it on one side first, then a few days later the other! Yuppers, sure makes you think you broke them. I was in the Navy at the time, went in for xrays to confirm. Never knew you could do that, but as you and I found out, YUP! I had the flu and a cold at the time, so I sympathize with you on bracing. It just about killed me to cough or worse yet, SNEEZE. Laughing was out of the quesetion as well.

Good luck, get well soon.
