Heat gadge

It seems that my heat gadge in my Winstar 95, goes all the way up when I drive. Now, the problem is I don't over heat when I drive. I'm not leaking antifreeze. Could it be that the radiator needs a flush?

The first thing to check would be the connection at the sender.
