I've only tried them twice...And both time the car ran worse when I was done. One was an Explorer that the owner insisted on putting them in, the other was an Expy with the owner wanting them in.....So I put them in, called the owner and had them come and drive the vehicle to confirm the bad results, and then put OEM Motorcraft plugs in and let them roll...My Expy will only get Motorcraft Platinums...

Skyjack,
Is there anything indicating that you need to change your plugs at only 45k? They are rated to last approx 100k miles. I've read that many like to tackle this PITA job (I know, just changed mine two weeks ago !) around 70-80k miles. Mine was changed after 110k miles, and they were pretty much shot. I noticed pinging and my gas mileage got worse if you could believe it. I personally would wait to at least 60k but that's my opinion. You might want to look into cleaning your MAF sensor. You can do a search on that for directions, (it's easy).
Good luck,
Phil
