I was missing one resistor also. I had 5 loose ones as well. I found a company here is San Diego that builds circuit boards and the guy soldered all of the existing ones in, and I bought a $.99 package of resistors at Frye's electronics. He took care of that and did it for $10 during his lunch break. Now it works great. They are little round tube looking resistors with about 1/2" of wire on either end. The guy did a great job on the solder. 1000% better than I could have done. Try that route before you get too much further.

I had mine repaired by a shop in my area that fixes guitar amps. They repaired the broken resistor and it worked well for about two years. It is not working again. I am sending it to one of the EBay repair sellers.
I will let you know how it goes I paid $22.00

Overhead digital console for 2004 excursion

I followed the instructions here and it worked great!
20 bucks for a soldering iron and it is fixed.
I took some pictures of the resistors that were loose in case it helps the next guy. They are the rectangular ones with either 620 or 680 on them.
4 horizontal and 3 vertical in this picture. They are next to the red, round component.
The 2nd horizontal one from the left had come loose on one end.

I also took a picture from another angle so you can see the LED screen in relation to the resistors in question.

Thanks.

Now all I need to figure out is where the outside air temp sensor and cable connect to under the hood and that part of the console will work too!

Tom
mine is out on the backside of the front grill, and you may want to move it to where it gets a good shot at outside air without the under hood air affecting it..

when you solder them in, stand them up to get air on all sides.. they stay much cooler and won't heat up and fall out again..
