Was in there the other day & noticed they now have a smaller 3 drawer stainless tool box. It's like the smaller ones that everyone sells with the hinged lid & handle on top etc, but about twice the size & has handles on the ends. About $80 & perfect for the truck/car etc. Gonna have to buy me a couple
question -- has anyone heard of a tool box called Hammerhead Toolbox i saw them on ebay -- it is a stainless steel about 6 foot tall tool box went to the web sight and there about 1000 bucks -- i need a nice big box - but wow that is alot of money
is there anything cheaper out there but still good quality -- i have looked at sears but for there upper line there still about 400- 600 for just the upper or lower
a friend of mine got a stainless box for his work from Costco. I thinks it the same one. I'm 5'9" and can just peer into the top of the box. its about 42" wide. 2 peice (top and bottom).
I think he paid $700. well worth it.
Very nice!!

I just bought a rolling toolbox/work bench type deal. I went to Sears to buy a new chest, their top of the line, and I was disgusted at what they considered good quality for the price, so i left. On the way home I stopped at Tractor Supply and ended up buying the rolling chest unit. I can't remember who makes it, I know it's made in china, but it is so far superior in quality to the Craftsaman boxes and cheaper, I had to get it. 16 ball bearing drawers, heavy casters with zerk fittings. Very heavy duty and well made. I paid $500 for it and don't know how I lived with out it.
The COSTCO SS box sounds like a good deal, but I don't care for the SS look (and maintenance) myself. Besides, i love the flat surface on top at work bench height. I even thought about mounting a vice on the top.
I agree the Craftsman top-of -the -line are junk.Especially when you consider the price. Costco SS box, very nice, good ballbearing slides-heavy gauge metal-the deep drawers have double slides. If i was in the market for a new box i would serioiusly consider this one for about $650 in CA. I currently have the older Kobalt from Lowe's (now even theirs have gone "tinny").

I just got this b4 xmas from sams....$654+tax. I came up from a 3 pc craftsman professional and have room to spare. Heavy sucker if you put it together urself....
I saw the one at Sam's last night. It's a good looking box with ball bearing drawers, and three deep drawers on the bottom, like for files. At $654, I am seriously considering it, but I do get a 10% discount because my girlfriends grandma retired from walmart.
