I purchased a 2001 F150 sport, 4.2 ltr V6 with a 5 spd trans in Sept 2001. I immediately noticed a grinding in second and third gears. I have had the vehicle serviced three times already and is going in this week for the fourth time. I have spoken to the Ford service rep and he tells me there is not an issue with the truck that he is aware of. However , so far in an effort to fix the truck they have put in an upgraded hydrolic system and I have been informed that the mazda transmission in that truck is no longer made. I am writting to this forum to see if there are any other owners out there with the same issue. I know I have talked to a couple personally and have heard others with the same problem driving down the road.
