Question engine noise

98 4.2 100miles real bad sqeql/squeak out of front of engine changed fan belt, water pump and tensioner, with a stethescope it can be heard in the water pump, could the fan clutch be the problem?? it is an intermittent problem making it harder to diagnose, any ideas

Hey Uke, when's it doin the noise? That could lead you to your failure.

the noise is more at idle and higher RPM, but no noise at highway driving

I've read somethings about the viscous clutch in the fan and the clock spring not engaging completely. I'm unsure..mine is noisy sometimes too. Along with the stupid noisy pitman arm.
