studdering 91 explorer

If anyone can help would be great, i have a 91 explorer and at highway speeds usually around 65 or so, if i start to go up a hill or accelerate it starts to studder or miss a little bit. if i push it to the floor, it goes just fine. Anyone have any ideas?

I just changed them 3 weeks ago when i bought the explorer.

check your fuel filter,have you ever ran close to empty?personally it sound like wires and or plugs or a faulty ignition,kinda like something is getting ready to go!

I could see a dirty MAF doing that to you. A bad O2 sensor (O2 sensor data i ignored at WOT). A bad TPS (PCM doesn't always know where the throttle is at.
1st thing I would do is perform EEC-IV self tests to see if computer can see a fault. Also check fuel pressure/delivery and make sure the engine is getting fuel.

maybe u joint hey just a guess but my expoder did mostly like that and did the u joints and no problems now

Couple of things to do.
First, because the MAF often causes problems becasue the filaments are dirty, which won't show up while testing the sensor electronics, I would open it up and check/clean the filaments. Use a Q-tip and a volatile solvent (I use isopropyl alcohol) and gently wipe the crud (if any) off the filaments.
As for verifying the sensor electronically, I don't remember the specifics, but a good manual (may need a professional strength edition. not sure Haynes/Chilton's will have a good description. Check the library) will have specifics. You'll use a volt meter to check the supply voltage to the sensor and the output voltage.
