Bellhousing/Transmission to fit 351M

Got a 1986 F250 with no transmission, bellhousing or engine
Have a 1980 F150 with 351M and C6
want to put the 351 in the 1986, need to know what other engines will have same bolt pattern on bellhousing so I can use a HD 4 speed with PTO side plates. A friend told me tha the 460 was the same size.
Want to convert this into a small dump truck and need a standard transmission with pto to make the hydro pump work.

Bellhousing/Transmission to fit 351M

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 22-Nov-02 AT 10:16 PM (EST)]Hi! Welcome to FTE!

We would all love to help you, but this topic will get a lot more attention down in the proper forum.

We have a forum for 1980-1986 Ford Trucks, as well as a forum for the 351M-400, and Cleveland engine family.

I am sure you will get the information you need there.

Thanks, and have a great time here!

indeed a 351m bellhousing is the same as a 460 bellhousing. in fact the 351m, 351c, 400, 429, and 460 all have the same bellhousing pattern.

I believe that the 351C shares the bolt pattern with the 289/302/351W windsor series. The others are correct.
