Thermostat Type ??? (2 completely different ones )

Bronco II 1988 2.9L

Here in Switzerland they offer 2 types of thermostats for my 2.9L engine.

One is a type with a small 35mm round disk at the end and is about 31mm long measured from the flansch.

The other one thus not have this disk, what is the correct type?
(They are also used here in the ford scorpio V6 2.9L

thermostat

The Ford one I have is stamped 91TM-8575-AA made in Germany, 45 MM from top to bottom. Has a 15 MM cylinder that rides up & down on a shaft with a coiled spring on the bottom. The top part has a 20 MM disk that is attached to the main cylinder & does the opening & closing. Diameter of flange is 50 MM. From flange to bottom is25 MM.I hope this helps.
