Yes, Black Ford, the fusible link is on the stock wiring harnes, but I was talking about if you rewired and put new wires in.

The problem with the 2Gs is the rectifier plug, the 2Gs had 2 plugs, 1 was the voltage regulator, it looks just like the 3G plug.
But the 2nd plug is the bigger one that has 3 terminals, it contains 1 sense wire and 2 big splade terminals that are the output wires for the rectifier, hence puts out all the amps and voltage.
Sorry for the length bro.
The rectifier plug with the 2 splade terminals usually gets hot and melts the plastic plug, hence sometimes can start a fire.
Hence called the flamin 2G
Usually when you buy a reman 2G you get a new plug with pigtails, because the plugs get worn out very quick.
So then its not a good idea to put more amps through those wires with a reworked 2g. I guess 3g is the best bet. I was just hoping I could find something reliable that i wouldn't have to rewired
It's not very hard to rewire.
The 2 big terminals, there the output wires. You cut the terminals off and crimp on an eyelet onto both those wires.
Then the 1 small wire, you need to check with an auto parts or electric shop, like the one I mentioned before. This is the sence wire and you cut that terminal off and crimp on a small splade terminal, the 3G uses it.
The regulator should be the same wiring, just check before you run the alt.
I'm going to sleep now, hope I got all that right.
good luck bro.
