Bought code reader for my 95 F150 and 95 Explorer. plugged it in to the ports (yes both cables were plugged in) the sode reader light came on even with it in the hold position. when I turned it to test same thing. Light stays on and beeeeeeeeeep until I unplug it. Is this right or is the code reader a piece of crap. tried it on both Fords and the same thing happened on both
It does that until you actually start the test. Once you turn on the ignition and switch the code reader to test it should work fine. I thought mine (walmart) was broken until I actually followed the directions...
Actually the code reader will just beeeeep and stay lit until you turn the key to the run position. I have an actron scanner (cheap) and it works fine.
Key was on. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Following directions............never tought of that. Hahahaha. it was 30 degrees outside too cold for directions.
I left it "key on" for two minutes still beeping I'm gonna try again this weekend maybe it will work.
Went to Walmart to get a code reader and they dint carry them. Ended up with one for $29.95 at Bunper to Bumper . Its a digital read out one. havent tried it yet
Bumper To Bumper Auto parts is a big chain store out west in Montana. The Wal Mart guy said they had nothing but I walked the aisles looking anyway but he was right. Its made by Inova part # 3145. Look at www.codereader.com. Its the digital readout one for 81-95 fords with EEc Iv or MCU computers. No time now to try it yet, its from santa anyway. Comes with a book that walks you thru the whole test deal. Will let you know how it works when I get time after Xmas
