They have a new toy at WM called Homies. One is a bunch of "Mexican?" guy figurines cleaning their early model Chebby and the other is them having a night out on the town with the ladies with their car. Not trying to be racist or anything, but they are apparently running out of toy ideas. It will definitely not be on my Christmas list.

yeah, labels change, and I'm not sure if I'm even still correct
for years hispanic was the term, then someone decided it was offensive somehow, so it changed to Chicano for a while, then someone decided that was bad, and as far as I can tell its now Latino. I hope someday we can get over all this and call people people

(Other Bower here)
I've been collecting those Homies for several years now. Not as a full-time thing, I just think they're neat. I get them out of bubble-gum machines. (I have a longstanding addiction to gumball machines, after a while most of the toys go in a container for the kids to play with, but I kept the Homies.)
I tooko them to work last spring when the migrant crews were there, and they got such a kick out of comparing the homie figures to each other. It went past the language barrier, as my Spanish is pretty basic, so that was cool too.
