Remote Starter Switch

This Harbor Freight Remote Starter Switch says to see your vehicle manufacturers information on how to hook this up. Could someone that has used a remote starter switch explain how I would hook this up to my 1972 F250. Thanks! Harbor Freight | Whatever You Do, Do It For Less

So this would be the two large terminals for the positive and the negative on the sides of the starter solenoid? Not the S and I smaller terminals. I think I recall something about putting your ignition switch to the ON position, is that correct? If so how long can you keep it in the ON position? as it's my understanding that you can burn out your coil or points if you leave it in the ON position for to long. Thanks for your response!

Yes, you need to go between the positive on the battery and the "S" Terminal. What are you trying to do with this switch? The coil will not have power on it until you turn on the ignition. If you are just trying to crank the engine, leave the switch in the off position. If you are trying to start the truck, turn on the ignition. Yes you are correct that leaving the key in the run position can cause problems if left on while the truck is not running!

As stated you need to connect to the (+) battery terminal and the (S) terminal on the start relay if you don't want the engine to start at all you need to disconnect the (I) terminal on the start relay. The (I) terminal supplies a full 12V to the coil when the starter is engaged whether the key is on or not.
