We were talking to a school teacher recently who said they took all their clocks out and put digital ones in.
After I retired from teaching HS, I subbed frequently at both the HS and the middle school. At the middle school the classrooms had analog clocks. Digital clocks were in the hallways. A 7th grader asked to go to the lab. I told her to sign out. She started to fill out the sign out sheet. Then went to the door and opened it. I hollered "Hey, you gotta finish signing out ". She said, "I'm looking to see what time it is." I said, "there's a clock in here ." She says "I can't read that clock".

What are our schools doing wrong?
And to think during my last Medicare physical they told me to draw a clock and put the hands at 3:47. I guess they were checking for dementia? So I have my next Medicare check up next week. If I flunk the draw the clock test I can say....so would a 7th grader!😄

That's funny.... also because the doctor asked my wife and our good friend older lady the same questions testing for dementia the last several years. I have never been asked to draw a clock nor was I ever asked to answer the things I always asked at the beginning of the appointment. I say they know I am of sound mind. My wife says they know im beyond diagnosing.
So if I drew this, would I pass or be sent to the loonie bin?
Maybe, but I think it is genius or at least you are a comic genius.
I'm an old clock guy. I have a tall case (grandfather) clock built in England sometime before 1796 that I wind weekly, a wooden works clock made between 1833 and 1836 that I wind daily and a banjo clock made in 1929 I wind weekly. So when asked I think I could pass that test.
I read on another forum that if you say to Gen Zers or later kids "I'll meet you at a quarter till or a quarter after" they will not know what you are talking about.
