My, took me a bit to warm up to but that adaptive cruise can certainly help when taking a longer drive. Did an almost 3 hour run into SE Texas today and used it most of the way, had to toggle the speed up and down a few times but that was it. I get it, it ain’t mountain road driving but it is certainly a useful shiny trinket when all you need to do is pilot the steering wheel. Old news to the younger crowd but to a guy who cut his teeth on a ‘77 Highboy, certainly had me reflecting on how things have changed……..

Wasn't sure I'd like it, but when you're on a 2-lane blacktop that's pretty crowded, that adaptive cruise is handy (we have it on the wife's expedition). Set it where you want it, let it settle in behind whoever is in front of you, and go around 'em when the passing lanes show up. Sure, they might speed up and slow down but when you're stuck behind them it's nice to let the vehicle do the work.
There are a few quirks that take some getting used to, like how it'll brake WAYYY too soon and aggressively when someone is turning in somewhere (like a parking lot)...gotta remember to kick it off when you see them turn on the turn signal or WHAM it'll slow you down to nothing, even when I KNOW they'll be clear before we get to them. So there's a learning curve but out on the highway it's nice.
I had to turn off the intelligent Cruise. But I do like the Adaptive Cruise.
Intelligent Cruise was reading the speed limit signs on the exits. and slowing me down to 45mph in middle of a 70 mph traffic.
