Question rough idle and loss of power 2000 4.6

My name is Chris I have a 2000 F-150 4.6L V8. I need your help. About a week ago my truck starts to all of a sudden kind of shake a little when driving and at an idle, thought maybe spark plugs they havent been replaced in 60,000 miles replaced the egr valve and gasket due to check engine light. Now the light is off but I am still having the same problems.???????

Did you get a read on the reason the SES light came on? If it was not cleared, go to Autozone and get a free read.

Many things could cause your problem, and it would help a lot to have the OBD output. If it's a misfire, I would suspect ignition coil(s).

615chris:
Double check that you don't have a small vacuum leak around the EGR valve that you replaced. In fact, do an inspection on all your vacuum lines.

Spray some carb cleaner around the EGR and the surrounding vacuum lines while the engine is running. If you get an increase in RPM's then you found your leak. Make sure your PCV is seated fully into the valve cover too.

Keep us posted on your findings.

problem solved

I finally figured it out I had a misfire in no.1 cylinder due to the coil, and a faulty DPFE sensor. Truck runs great now thanks for all of your help. Chris
