What gear ratio?
i’m looking for a dana 60 for my 86 cclb f350 dually. i want to keep coils if possible. the rear is a 3.55. what gear ratio should i be looking for for the front, the same ratio? any way to keep my coils?

You should look for the same ratio. If you want a stock swap in axle, you need to go to leaf springs and get a 1986-1998 f350 dana 60 front axle. That will all bolt in with some hole drilling. If you want front coils, that is going to be custom. But there is a kit made for that in the link below. You would need to find a later front axle and the lug pattern for the wheels will be different. If you go this route you might as well swap in the later rear axle also.

He has a post going on the frame swap to get 4x4 and a 6BT diesel so maybe he is looking to swap this truck to 4x4 first then the diesel?
Will the frame hold up to the diesel is the question?
