1985 f250 lariat carberated. it has sat for 15 yrs. i finally got the ign working. Someone has put an Endelbrok intake and carb on. Now it needs the fuel pump. Where is it? In the tank on the rail on the engine? it has a 460 in it and a single tank.
Pretty easy to find out.
Follow the fuel line from the carb to the tank till you come across the pump.
You will also see where ALL the rubber fuel line is that needs to be replaced as it is dried out and cracked.

If he had the hot fuel handling option originally, no he would have a electric pump in the tank. If he did not have that option, then yes a mechanical fuel pump on the engine. Though the mechanical pump had the option for 3 lines going to it.

And why I did not say just were it was and to follow the line out of the carb on back to the tanks as you are bound to find the pump that way.

that is what i figured. it sat for 15 years and it cranks just fine but no gasoline coming up and no pump on the engine.
If you have the original system you can do a quick check. Look at your starter relay (solenoid) on the pass side fender. You will have two small terminals on it. One will be the s terminal and have a red/blue wire on it. The other small terminal is the i terminal, and it should have a wire on it also, I think it's blue. If you pull this wire off and jump it to the battery + terminal, you can see if you hear the pump running. Jumping this will bypass a lot of the controls for the pump. The pump is what usually fails, but there a lot of other places for failure, like a oil pressure switch and a fuel pump relay. It will also bypass the inertia switch, another possible failure point.
