I just learned that the wheel I wanted for my truck, an Eagle 589 in the 17x8 size, is not available and is back ordered with no end in sight!!
I found another brand in the 17x8 size but they have a 5.5" backspacing on them. This puts them 1.25" closer to the frame since the stock wheels are a 4.25" back space, right??
Does anyone know or have an opinion on whether this set-up will rub or not with a 315 tire?
Please help, I can't wait indefinately to get the Eagles and the place I found the others at has one set.

My wheels are a 4.75 backspace with a 15.50 wide tire and no problems. I wouldn't think you would have a problem, but Im not 100% sure. Hopefully someone that has that offset will chime in.
I have the BFG 315/70/17 on Mickey Thompson 17 x 9 Classic IIs. This rim has 5 inches of backspacing, puts most of the tire under the truck and doesn't hit the springs. However, it does hit the fender liner (Jack-it 2.5 kit enroute). This tire looks great on the SDs and should be relatively inexpensive as it comes on the Hummer H2. By the way, I used McGard install kit part number 84805, which includes locks and lugs, but is nearly as cheap as buying the lugs alone. Good luck!
