I bought a code reader for my 88 F-150, but I can't find the plug to hook it to my truck? Is it in the cab or under the hood?. My check engine light has startedn flashing lately and I want to try and figure out why. I'm a truck and transport mechanic so I've already done the basic tests, checks and tune-ups. My oil pressure and water temp are fine and the trucks starts and runs great. It only seems to happen while climbing small to steep grades. I used to get some pinging and spark knock until I set my timing to factory specs, it was retarded a little. I guess once I read any stored codes I might be able to source the cause.
