Long block install best practices
I have a 1986 302 5.0 efi engine that is getting a remanufactured long block. I will definitely be getting professional assistance on the removal and install, but I wanted to know what else to do while everything is apart. I've been told to replace the thermostat and water pump. As far as the intake, throttle body and injectors, any suggestions on good practices for those or anything else?

Hey Kman. While many of the processes and steps would be the same, this is the forum for the earlier trucks from 73 to 79. Lots of dissimilarities between the two series. Enough that you’d do better in the newer forum.
You should have an admin move your post, or create another one in the 80 through 96 section.
