93 F150 XLT, 5.8 liter, E4OD. Won’t crank, gages all come. New battery, new solenoid. Just got it out of shop for transmission repair. I’m thinking starter, don’t know if there’s anything else involved. I’m 76 and limited to what I can do to it😊. Any ideas? Thank you!
try moving the shifter through the gears while holding the key to start position. my be is the neutral safety/reverse light switch is not properly aligned.

Yes, there is more involved
There is the neutral safety switch mentioned above (part of the MLP switch on the side of the transmission) (manual lever position = MLP)
Then, there is the ignition switch and it's actuator which breaks
Generally, when the actuator breaks, you "can" start the truck, you just can't shut it off
Old or not, someone needs to get down to the small wire on the starter and verify battery voltage on the small wire when in crank
And battery voltage needs to be more than 10.5 volts hitting that starter solenoid energize wire
You'll be testing that wire for 10.5 volts or more when in crank (should be 12.XX volts)
