Chains
I was wondering...
I know studs in your tires are illegal in Ontario, but... Are snow chains legal or illegal?

AFAIK
They can only be used on roads in mountainous areas with a snow pack.

I don't plan on using them everywhere I go... My dad has always kept a set in his van and only used them when the snow was really deep or someone got stuck somewhere. I would never just drive around with chains on the tires if I did not need them.
I work for a company that plows snow in the winter, so when the weather is the worst, that's when I need to get to work the most, so if chains are required to get me to work, I was just wondering if it was ok to use them......

Basically, as I understand it, in Ontario, is that If the road is paved or concrete than NO SPIKES OR CHAINS as they are outlawed.
Besides, if the roads are that bad, you should stay home and snowmobile anyway.....
