This was quite the journey and still quite confusing, and I'm not sure exactly how helpful any of this is. For the shocks cross reference from various Ford and other publications:
the tops are 56-60 only
bottoms are 56 and I'm not sure 57-60
53-55 shocks are eyelet hole ends where 56 shocks are threaded
pics to help with my explanation 1953-55 style with the eye end 56 style with the threads
I think I have some shock mounts from my F250. I was able to get new ones and a few of the ones I took off are good. I may only have the bottoms for the front. If I can find them I will take pictures tomorrow.
I wish I had those shocks with the steel sleeve in the bushing. They would slide straight on easy peasy. The ones I got are all rubber and an absolute bear to get onto the shock mounts.
I believe I have a sett of the top mounts like that too but one is missing the pin that holds the shock. I scrapped a 53 frame years ago and forgot what they were for..
I found these. I think they are correct but take a closer look. They may be the lowers. I cleaned them up in rust 911 and there is some pitting. If you put it in a drill press with some emery cloth you can knock the high spots off. If you don't have one and it will fit in my chuck I can do it. Let me know and I can send them to you. If you are using a shock without a sleeve in the bushing or replace it with a straight rubber busing you should be line. The sleeve might be fine as well, I just don't know if it might be a little loose fitting.
