351 Swap

Hello all! I have a sweet running 351W/FMX in a '77 Cougar that I am considering swapping into my '89 F150 that currently has the 302/AOD. Staying with the AOD. What mechanical issues will I have, like the flywheel and starter? Any balance issues? Going with the carb swap, so no EFI. Thanks ahead of time.

Using the correct flexplate is critical, and a carb specific TV cable like the one from Locar.

My Cougar is a butter-yellow 4 door with rust bubbles under the vinyl top and a brand new gas tank.

In a mid '80's crown vic was the only time the 351/AOD combo appeared from the factory, it's 28oz imbalance with a 164 tooth ring gear and AOD specific offset.

Yes to the Crown Vic 351-VV (Variable Venturi carb)/AOD. I have one!

Be aware that the 5.0 changed from 28oz to 50 oz, but I'm not sure when that happened. The 351 was always 28oz.
