I need to rotate my tires,I know what the manuel said, which is to swap the front side to side and the back the same way, But I was wondering how the rest of you DRW guys rotate yours.
The back tires go straight forward to the front axles. The front tires move diagonally back to the rear. Left front moves to the Right Rear, etc. I rotate every other oil change. And it was a giant pain in the a@@ too, but then I got an impact wrench
I just do mine side to side so far, basically so I won't have to dismount and remount tires on the polished wheels. The inner rear wheels ain't shiny, you know.........
Oops......I didn't catch the DRW remark. Since I only have a SRW truck, I never thought about rotating tires on a dually. I think it's important to give the front tires a break and rotate them to the rear. Will the outer rear tire fit on the front hubs if you flip them around? Is the other side of the outer wheel shiney? I'd probably pick up a pair of shiney wheel for the inner tires as well, that way I could rotate them all for even wear.
No, the inside surface of the wheel is not polished. You have to break the tire/wheel down to rotate them correctly on a DRW.
The previous owner of my DRW had taken the cheap way out and just swapped the front wheels/tires to the rear and vice-versa. They will FIT, but the insides of the wheels ain't real purdy!
