95 explorer fuel problems?
My 95 Explorer (6 Cyl) with 162,000 miles started stuttering and loosing power badly on a long trip, especially going uphil, no matter how mild the slope. The mechanic I sttopped at suggested it was the fuel filter, which he replaced but led to only aminor improvent, if any. Putting in a two-part fuel-injector cleaner at a fast-lube place (one botle through the vacuum line and one in the gas tank) did solve the problem for the rest of the trip and few days longer, but the same problem is returning intemittently. The car feels like starving for fuel and I suspect it the fuel pump (which is rather noisy, but seems to work).
Is there anything other that the fuel pump that could be wrong?
