Thoughts on this? It recently began happening, I've taken off panels to access more wiring harnesses to see if I could find a loose one to no avail. I've also gone around and oiled up all the door closures etc. They all seem to close well, and dome light isn't coming on while driving, just the door ajar light going wacky.
The earlier Aerostars with the rectangular instrument panel had an illustration in one of its displays that would show which door was ajar. I guess the newer models with the contoured dash don't have that anymore.
If its one of the front doors or the rear hatch doing this, check to see if the plastic bushing on the striker post is gone, preventing full closure of these doors. It's hard to find an exact replacement for those from the "HELP" packets at your local auto parts store, but you can try.
If it's the sliding door that the light is complaining about, you can try cleaning the contacts on the edge of the door and the B-pillar that it slides into. If that doesn't work, the sliding door may need to be adjusted to close more tightly.
After these comments and closer examination its definitely the sliding door contacts, they are quite worn, are they replaceable? I will maybe add some photos soon
