Trans Mount & Shift Lever Issues
Hi, I have a 1973 F-100 that I recently upgraded some parts of the 360fe on. (Pertronix flamethrower distributor, Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock 4bbl 650cfm carb, new ignition coil, and new radiator). Afther these upgrades, I notices when I would hit the gas in 1st (coming out of a stoplight, etc.), I notices the shift lever would move itself to the neutral position as if it was being torqued by the transmission (Automatic C6). I further noticed if I really pressed down on the gas, this torquing of the lever would cause a rattling noise in the transmission. If I were to do this while holding the lever in its original position, it would drop down into 2nd. I assumed this was at the fault of a broken transmission mount, brought to light by the increase in engine power; however, since replacing the transmission mount I have yet to notice a change to the before issues and now there is the added issue of a "chirping" noise when idling in gear. Putting it into park or neutral will stop the noise, however, pressing the gas or turning off the truck will still cause the noise. Is there some sort of solution?
